I’m almost a year sober, actually, coming right up at the end of this month.'Her voice cracking with emotion, she confided: 'It’s been something that has really drastically affected all of my relationships in a very negative way – relationships with friends, relationships with [fiancé] Jeremy [Byrne], with anyone else I’ve dated, because – I don’t even know how to explain it.'She gave it a shot, outlining that her 'makeup is basically that I just want it all, all the time, and that’s what makes me a really joyful person, and that’s what makes me love taking on projects and love meeting people. Like, I really, truly enjoy life so much.'The flipside is that 'I also don’t know when to stop, and that’s just affected the people in my life in a way that I didn’t want anymore. And then after college, I was in – well, I don’t wanna throw anyone under the bus, but it was just a relationship that was hard on me, and I had a lot of shame,' she said.'And that just kicked it up, ‘cause all addictions are pretty related to shame and pain avoidance,' she said, though she appended quickly: 'I think, in my experience.'She's remembered 'eating food in secret, throwing up in garbage bags in my car, throwing up in dumpsters, throwing up, you know, behind bushes in weird places.'Britt's said she 'would throw up in the shower in a garbage can and then try to transfer it to the toilet without anyone finding out' - all this over a period of 'years.''I didn't tell anyone, 'cause I just thought it was too shameful, and I was just too embarrassed.
